Omega Base is a dietary supplement that supplies omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. It also contains Buglossoides arvensis L. seed oil (Ahiflower®) with more total biologically advanced and active plant omegas such as stearidonic acid (SDA) and Ƴ-linolenic acid (GLA), along with the essential α-linolenic acid (ALA) and linoleic acid (LA). It also contains fish oil from sustainable fishing and obtained by the supercritical fluid extraction method that yields docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), and mixed natural tocopherols as a source of vitamin E..

Omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids are essential for all body functions and must be supplied through the diet, as our body is unable to synthesize them.

Essential fatty acids are found mainly in oily fish, seafood, raw seeds (flax, chia, hemp, etc.) and nuts. Diets lacking in these foods are poor in omega-3 (ALA, SDA, DHA) and omega-6 (LA, GLA), and therefore require adequate supplementation to ensure a balanced omega-3/6 ratio.

Unhealthy lifestyles, unbalanced diets or micronutritional deficiencies can slow the conversion of essential fatty acids to bioactive fatty acids such as GLA, SDA or DHA.

Omega Base is a nutritional supplement containing:

• Seed oil from Buglossoides arvensis L. (Ahiflower®), the richest natural vegetable source of omega-3 (ALA) and omega-6 (LA) essential fatty acids and bioactive fatty acids (SDA, GLA) which is obtained by cold pressing and physical refining.

Ingredients

Refined oil from Buglossoides arvensis L. seeds (Ahiflower®); Fish oil from sustainable fishing supplying >78% DHA triglycerides; Softgel (gelatin, glycerin, water); Mixed natural tocopherols.

Lactose-free/gluten.

Dosage

1 to 4 softgels a day with meals or the dosage indicated by a health care professional.

Natural products and foods can also cause intolerance in individuals who are sensitive to any of their components.

As with any other product, Omega Base should not be taken by or administered to individuals who are allergic or intolerant to any of its components. Omega Base contains fish.

• Individuals taking Acenocoumarol (Sintrom) or Warfarin: at dosages higher than 2 softgels a day, the Warfarin dosage may need to be adjusted in the monitoring checks, although Omega Base causes less interference than other omega-3s as it does not contain EPA.
• It is advisable to avoid taking Omega Base in the five days prior to a surgical procedure. Omega Base consumption can be resumed after the operation. This is merely a precaution, as Omega Base does not contain EPA.

Omega Base should be stored in the lower part of the refrigerator to avoid loss of properties due to heat, light and humidity.

As with any food supplement, keep Omega Base out of reach and sight of small children.
